    1. Define hardware and give examples
    2. Define software and give examples
    3. Describe the difference between hardware and software
    4. Identify the main components of a multi purpose computer: CPU, hard drive, input/output devices, storage devices.

Working with Wikis


  • Students should be able to:

    1. Log onto their wikis with their username and password
    2. Create new wiki pages
    3. Edit wiki pages to add/modify content
    4. Insert images.

Word Processors


  • Students should be able to:

    1. prepare a multimedia presentation with text, graphics and sound
    2. Format text, Fonts, bold, Italics, colour, alignment (left, right, centre)
    3. insert clipart (including sound), borders, page numbers and headers/ footers, bullets.

Spreadsheets


  • Students should be able to:

    1. Edit a spreadsheet, move around cells, name cells,
    2. Perform simple calculations (Add, subtract, multiply)
    3. Perform more complex calculations using functions (Average, Max, Min)
    4. Create Graphs
